This summer, the varsity, junior varsity and freshman cheerleading squads from Spain Park High School brought their "A" game to the UCA Summer Camp held at Auburn University.

The Spain Park cheerleading program brought home a total of 9 trophies including the hard earned UCA Leadership Award to add to their trophy case. Additionally, each squad achieved two Superior ribbons during the competition, a total of 6 Superior ribbons. The cheerleaders attended cheer, stunt, sideline chants, private coaching, and dance classes taught by UCA instructors.

The varsity squad, coached by Brooke Smith, brought home three trophies including first place in the home pom competition, first place in the extreme routine and second place in the cheer competition. The following seniors were selected as Varsity All-Americans Lauren Gurley, Maggie Timbrook, Mackenzie Frazier, Danielle Palladino, Victoria Parker, Lauren Young, Alex Ledbetter, Erica Dobnikar, Rachel Wheeler, Kathleen Hinds, Mallory Burks, and Kaitlyn Schweer. These senior girls, Danielle Palladino, Lauren Gurley, Maggie Timbrook, Mackenzie Frazier, Erica Dobnikar, Rachel Wheeler, Kathleen Hinds, Mallory Burks and Kaitlyn Schweer received bids to become UCA staff members. Other members of the varsity squad include Alexandria Drakos, Danielle DuBose, Jordan Lorino, Mallory Murphy, Megan Murphy, Alexandra Renfroe, Katherine Schmidt and Brittany Smith.

The junior varsity squad won three trophies including first place in the home pom competition, first place in the extreme routine, and first place in the cheer competition. The following JV members were selected as JV All-Americans Kendra Wilder, Lizzie Wells, Shelby Selikoff and Katherine Battle. Other members of the junior varsity squad include Allison Berler, Taylor Burton, Sarah Ellis, Rachel Fritz, Katie Glass, Emma Jamison, Anna Leigh Little, Ally Odom, and Erica Weeks.

The freshman squad, coached by Stephanie Hawkins, won first place in home pom competition, first place in cheer competition and 2 Superior Awards. The following freshman were selected as Freshman All-Americans Caroline Baldy, Paige Burleson, Julianna Neal and Payton Richey. Other members of the freshman squad include Courtney Bailey, Katherine Burleson, Maria Diliberto, Jenny Goldschmidt, Leah Guarisco, Amanda Ivy, Danielle Ivy, Anna McCarty, Alex Ann McPherson, Carly Murray, Lauren Runnels, Kelsie Schweer, Cami Silver, Alexz Yorbrough and Renna Zaharias.
